Island theme Cake Smash

Cake Smash is my one of my favourite sessions to shoot! I just love the excitement and cuteness overload drama and the theme design process because this is where the magic happens. When a client book their child's Cake Smash Session, we sit down and discuss details of her goals and ideas she has and of course her vision of what the session would look like.

Mum of Kaizah, Chelsea opted for an Islander theme reflecting on her son's heritage which is New Zealander and Samoan. We designed her son's Cake Smash around Island inspired props, which included bamboo backdrops, tiki torches and some island face characters. We also discussed to do a traditional First Birthday Portrait, the shoot was so much fun with Kaizah wearing a leaf head garland and wrist garland.
