Kyah's Cake Smash-Turning One

Cake Smash is the most fun and exciting photo session every portrait photographer yet very intense as we will never know what the outcome would be. I have been a photographer for over 7 years and never have I photographed a twelve month old that didn't cry after a few minutes their cake is displayed in front of the. Why? I haven't got the slightest idea. My best guess is that it is quite a big pressure being watched and photographed while trying to dig into that gorgeous cake, maybe because they are always told not to play with their food and now here's this yummy thing in front of them unsure whether they can dig into it. Most of my girls always cry when icing gets on their clothes and hands....girls!

Yesterday's cake smash was nothing different and special to me. My only grand child is turning one next month and we are doing her cake smash three weeks early as we are leaving overseas and will actually have her Birthday there. She will be celebrated the Filipino way! Her cake smash yesterday was so much fun and the added bonus was she knew me and was comfortable with me. Ky was a bit tired and refused to nap, she put on her clothes smiled a few times but was cranky towards the middle of her session, I got a few great shots and her theme was just amazing. My daughter had decorated her session and made her cake as well. Here's a preview of the shots and the behind the scene.

I hope you like her photos!!!
